I like to shoot many different cameras, from my Canon 5D all the way down to plastic point and shoots. One of my favorite cameras happens to be a point and shoot, sort of. The Holga has a relatively long history as a photographic tool. They were designed in 1982 and have been in use ever since. Cheaply made with a plastic lens? of course its the perfect art making tool. You have to be willing to give up some control and accept the result you get when you dive into Holga photography. That loss of control is what, in my opinion, makes a successful Holga photograph all that more special.
There are many ways to approach photography of any kind but I try to treat every exposure as serious as the last. whether I'm Shooting a DSLR or a plastic lens camera. I try to compose and make a story within the frame. The plastic lens and light leaks add another layer, and in a perfect world, enhance the image. With the lack of control, it doesn't always work out as planned but that's where the fun is.
Below are a few images taken with one of my Holga's, they are older images but they are still some of my favorites.
